Trindade

Vila and Praia dos Ranchos

The village is very small and stands around one main street, besides the Praia dos Ranchos. It's easy to see the lodges and camping areas there, but I recomend booking everything with some advance. In Vila of Trindade the couple daily rate is around R$120,00. We stayed at the lodge and camping Águas a Beira Mar, with direct access to the beach. The camping coasts R$30,00 per person per day. The lodge doesn't provide breakfast and the camping has toilletes with hot shower and many points of energy. For those who have a light sleep, the best thing is staying further from the beach, as the sound of waves is pretty loud at night.

There are lots of restaurant options in the Vila. The prato feito (set meal) coasts on average R$18,00. There are pizzerias, seafood restaurants and even a live music one!

We saw many times an urban bus from Paraty (Trindade is a district from Paraty), therefore the access for those who don't own a car may not be a problem.

Praia dos Ranchos

This is a mid level trail, for there are lots of obstacles (rocks), whose don't stop noone  to get to the end. It runs through three beaches: Meio, Cachadaço and Figueira - that I didn't even see the entrance. There are in Cachadaço some restaurants and one camping site. The meio is the most beautiful.

Back, the Praia do Cachadaço.
Tip:
There are no banks (ATM) or gas stations in Trindade.
Praia do Cachadaço

It's a small beach on the side of the Vila. Great for a diving and for children.

Right after a short but medium level trail from Praia do Meio is Praia do Cachadaço. It's very large and there are two restaurants and one camping site.

Piscina Natural - Natural Pool

In the end of Praia do Cachadaço is the trails that leads to the Cachadaço Natural Pool. It's a trail that may be complicated on some sections. Right on the beginning it requires some caution with the waves and the rocks. As an alternative, there are boats that take people from the Vila to Praia do Cachadaço and the Natural Pool.

The pool is a part of the sea surrounded by rocks that stop the waves. The crystal water allows seeing the little and curious fishes shoals that aren't afraid getting close to people.

Cachoeira da Pedra que Engole - Pedra que Engole Waterfall

Back to Praia do Meio, we took the trail to the waterfall. Its name means Rock that Swallows. Around 20 minutes hiking and we got there. There is a hole on the upper part of the waterfall that people can jump and come out on the other side, but it wasn't clearly which was the right hole and as we were alone we didn't make it. But it seems pretty nice.

The water was freezing, but after hiking there was no way not getting in.

Tentando disfarçar o frio.
Praia de Fora and Cepilho

The two beaches are a continuation of Praia dos Ranchos. The Praia do Cepilho is very used by surfers and there are some big and interesting rocks.
