About Me!
My name is João Magalhães, 16, and I currently live in Guarulhos, SP. The Discover Brasil is a project born with the objective of sharing of sharing my trips through the Americas. You'll find itineraries, tips and much more about s0me alternative routes that I'll run through the countries not only in South America, but in any of the three Americas.
The overlanding will be highlighted, and it's my preferred way of travelling, after all a car gives us total autonomy during a trip and makes it possible to explore deeply the places and enjoy not only the destination, but the whole path too. Although the initial investment is high, in long term this autonomy makes it much more economical to travel like this.
What is "overlanding?"
Explore and accomplish adventure trips. Go to unusual places, being you and your car the main players, and the route the main target. Your car will be important, after all you'll have all your supplies in it. This is overlanding. "History, wildlife, culture, scenery, self-sufficiency - these are the rewards of overlanding."*
But you'll find other types of travelling here too, with destinations from the more trendy to the less known and with different durations too. Of course that for me, the trips would only be to the most remote places, with emphasis in camping and being in touch with nature, but we have the other crew members (mom and dad) and we have to respect them too, right?
